Longines is a strange brand for me. I find most of their watches a bit dull (maybe even boring), but in the last few years they have released a bunch of heritage inspired watches which revive some of their classic models. Most of these have been really interesting. I’m talking about models like the Legend Diver, Railroad, 1951, 1954 and 1973.
Longines Flagship Heritage 60th Anniversary
They recently announced the latest addition to the heritage collection, the Longines Flagship Heritage 60th Anniversary 1957-2017.
The Longines flagship was first released in 1957. In 2017, they are releasing this new version to celebrate the 60th anniversary.
The watch is 38.5mm and will be available in three different metals: steel, yellow gold and rose gold.
The gold models will be limited to 60 watches each while the steel will be limited to 1957 watches.
They use the Longines L609 caliber, which is basically an ETA 2892.
I’m very happy that they decided not to include a date window. It gives the watch a much simpler and cleaner feel.
I absolutely love the look of these watches. I’m considering going to my local Longines AD and reserving a steel model (if they aren’t sold out already!).
